At Bioflora, we’re passionate about providing Australian farmers with innovative solutions to enhance crop yields and promote sustainable practices. We’re thrilled to share the outstanding results of a recent avocado trial conducted by Stephen Cozens of Elders Tolga in North Queensland. This trial showcased the remarkable impact of our Bioflora products on soil health and overall avocado tree performance.

Bioflora Supercharges Your Soil Biology

Bioflora’s unique range of soil-based plant stimulants are formulated to enrich your soil’s microbiome. They introduce a diverse range of beneficial microbes that work synergistically to improve soil structure, nutrient availability, and overall plant health.

Trial Results: A Testament to Bioflora’s Effectiveness

The Tolga avocado trial, conducted between December 2023 and May 2024, compared two groups: one treated with Bioflora products (Go Isolates / Fulvex / Iso Green / 5-17-4)   plus the grower’s standard program, and another receiving only the grower’s standard program. The results were truly impressive.

Bioflora Delivers

  • Enhanced Soil Health: Bioflora demonstrably improved the soil’s cation and nutrient balance by 5% and 6%, respectively.
  • Microbial Magic: Bioflora fostered a more diverse and robust microbial community, leading to an 8% improvement in the carbon-to-nitrogen ratio, a key indicator of soil health. This rich microbial life also suppressed soil pathogens naturally.
  • Improved Water Management: Bioflora facilitated a significant reduction in EC (electrical conductivity) and total soluble salts (TSS) by 11%, enhancing water use efficiency.
  • Boosted Nutrient Availability: The trial documented an impressive 18% increase in organic carbon, along with a 7% rise in available calcium and a staggering 64% improvement in available phosphorus. Additionally, Bioflora helped convert previously “tied-up” phosphorus (unavailable to plants) into a readily usable form, while also increasing total “tied-up” nitrogen by 12%, preventing it from leaching into the water table.
  • Stronger, Healthier Plants: Plant analysis revealed a 25% increase in the number of elements within the optimal range for avocado health. This translates to healthier trees with more vigorous growth and ultimately, increased fruit production.

The Bioflora Advantage: Cost-Effective and Sustainable

The Tolga trial underlines the remarkable potential of Bioflora Go Isolates to significantly enhance avocado crops. With a product cost of around $1,000 per hectare and a minimum 150% return on investment, Bioflora offers a compelling solution for Australian avocado growers seeking to elevate their yields and promote sustainable farming practices. Give it a go – what have you got to lose!
