ISOLATES
Isolates form an important part in the range of Bioflora products available in Australia. Beneficial microorganisms in the soil are essential for sustaining the health of agricultural soil systems. These soil microbes make significant contributions to pathogen suppression, nutrient cycling, plant nutrient uptake, soil structure development and maintenance, and agricultural productivity. When the beneficial microorganisms are depleted or missing from the soil, there is:
· Increased plant disease and soil pathogens
· Decreased availability of nutrients to the plant
· Increased soil compaction and loss of soil aggregates
· Increased water requirements and loss of water holding capacity
· Increased Arbuscutar Mycorrhizae (AM Fungi) spores by 19%, after an increase in relative B A Fungi
Bioflora in partnership with Integrated Life Science Research Center® pioneered the isolation of pure cultures of microorganisms, categorizing them by their beneficial properties including cellulose degradation, hydrocarbon degradation, and suppression of soil-borne plant pathogens. Certain species of these extracted microorganisms degrade hydrocarbons and cellulose found in soils, with these molecular compounds releasing nutrients to the plant and other soil organisms.
